This Sandbrook Business Capital calculator from Elizabethton, Tennessee shows how a loan's payment splits into interest and principal over its term.
Loan Term and Amortization Calculator for Carter County, TN Clinic Owners
A loan term and amortization calculator answers the question a clinic owner asks first: what will the payment be, and how much of it is interest. Enter the amount, an annual rate from an offer and the number of months, and it returns the level monthly payment and the total interest.
Illustration only, invented figures: $60,000 for imaging equipment at an invented annual rate of 8% costs about $1,217 a month over 60 months and $12,995 in total interest; stretched to 84 months, the payment drops to about $935 but total interest rises to about $18,555 (our arithmetic). The longer term is cheaper each month and dearer overall.
Limits of the Business Loan Amortization Schedule Calculator
- It assumes a fixed rate and level monthly payments; variable-rate loans and lines change month to month.
- It leaves out origination fees, closing costs and any prepayment penalty.
- It does not model a merchant cash advance, which is not a loan and has no interest rate.
- It does not model balloon payments or seasonal payment schedules.
- Its results are illustrative arithmetic, not an offer or a quote.
For any of those cases, read the offer's disclosure, which states the total dollar cost, and compare offers on that figure.
When to Call Sandbrook Instead of Using the Business Loan Amortization Schedule Calculator
Call Sandbrook at (423) 418-8866 instead of relying on the calculator when the question is which funding type fits, not what a payment will be: a clinic choosing between a line of credit and a term loan for claims gaps, a kitchen weighing an advance against equipment financing, or a purchase with several pieces.
The calculator also cannot say what a partner will offer. Only the partner reviewing a request can set its rate and term. The request steps cover what happens after the first call.
Inputs the Business Loan Amortization Schedule Calculator Uses for Restaurant Owners
The calculator uses three inputs:
- Loan amount: the sum borrowed after any down payment.
- Annual rate: the interest rate from an offer, as a percentage.
- Term in months: 36 for three years, 60 for five, 84 for seven.
A restaurant owner pricing a range package should enter the financed amount after any trade-in or down payment, and the term in the offer, not the equipment's full life. Restaurant loans covers the equipment choices.
An Amortization Schedule Worked by Hand for an Invented Elizabethton, TN Range Loan
Illustration only, invented figures: a $40,000 range and oven loan at an invented annual rate of 9% over 36 months. The level payment is $1,271.99. Each month's interest is the remaining balance times the monthly rate (9% divided by 12); the rest of the payment reduces the balance.
| Month | Payment | Interest | Principal | Balance after |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Month 1 | $1,271.99 | $300.00 | $971.99 | $39,028.01 |
| Month 2 | $1,271.99 | $292.71 | $979.28 | $38,048.73 |
| Month 3 | $1,271.99 | $285.37 | $986.62 | $37,062.11 |
Across all 36 payments the total paid is about $45,792, of which about $5,792 is interest (our arithmetic).
Interest Front-Loading: Why Early Payments Cut the Balance Slowly
Early payments carry the most interest because interest is charged on the balance, and the balance is largest at the start. As the balance falls, each payment carries less interest and more principal, so the balance falls slowly at first and more steeply near the end.
That shape matters when paying a loan off early or refinancing. A business that refinances a two-year-old five-year loan has paid a large share of the interest already and much less of the principal than the elapsed time suggests. Ask the lender for a payoff figure rather than estimating it.
Extra principal payments change the shape too. Money paid above the scheduled amount goes straight to the balance, so every later month carries less interest; check first whether the loan charges a prepayment penalty that would cancel out the saving.
